About DataPoint Football
Who Are We?
DataPoint Football is the working name of our algorithm based predictive sports modeling company.
What Do We Do?
We offer multiple independent algorithm based models designed to provide an analytical approach to betting college and professional football. We release our picks for FREE every Thursday or Friday during the football season.
The models were created by a former investment banker as a hobby. For each of the last seven years, the models have been enhanced by additional data and more sophisticated computer programming.
NCAAF Model
The 2024-25 season will be the fifth year we have operated this website. Last year was our best year yet with a 61% win percentage on 2 Star picks.
After each season, I re-evaluate the models used and make improvements as needed. This years tweaks involve having a total of six separate models (my most ever) with 2-Star picks needing a minimum of 2 of the 6 models that reach my minimum threshold for picks. 1-Star picks are situations where only 1 of my 6 models reached the minimum pick threshold. Lastly, i have created a new BONUS category for picks (mostly for fun) that is just created for situations when your watching a game and want to get a bet down. These picks don't meet the minimum threshold for picks, but do favor one team over the other through a majority of my models. Historical results based on this years models are 64% for 2-Stars, 56% for 1-Stars and 53% for the BONUS picks.
NFL Model
My NFL model has been up and down and has never been consistent enough for me to recommend that you rely on them exclusively to make your picks. I have made significant tweaks in this years model and i am excited to see how things turn out. I suggest you use my NFL picks as a resource along with other resources available to you for the upcoming year. Until i consistently win with the NFL model (like i have in the NCAAF model) i can't recommend that you rely exclusively on these picks.
Is it Really Free?
Yes. At least for now this is just a hobby.
